Joywork Part 4: Create Your Work, Create Your Wealth
It is possible to create work and wealth that brings you happiness. Gone are the days where you must rely on 20th Century options. Don't rely on what is, when you can create what can be. Joywork is the power of building your productive hours around things you love. Your passion and life's purpose is at the core.
Create Your Work
If you've ever had a hard time finding your perfect work, create it. You are not limited by what you already see in the world. Create something new. Your work must come from deep inside of you. If you've scanned the landscape for new opportunities and nothing fits, create it. Let's say you love pets, cooking, and travel. Could you combine the three? With a little creativity, anything is possible. The secret ingredient is faith.
Stay away from the naysayers. There will always be a few friends who are happy to persuade you to "give up the foolishness" and reconsider. Settle for a practical way to make a living. Usually, "get practical" means "get small." You were not created for small. When big seeds were planted on your inside. . . big things were meant to come out. Leave small to someone else. Steer clear of the naysayers.
Create Your Wealth
There is nothing more gratifying than matching your passion and source of daily happiness to the needs of others. When you do. . . you create wealth.
Not just money. In a much broader, deeper, and natural sense. In ways that touch lives long after money is exchanged. When you create real wealth, you are building and growing relationships.
Imagine the very thing that brings you joy is a blessing for others. That is true wealth. Anytime you guide, heal, help, or educate another, you are creating wealth and happiness. Let your dream out. It was meant to live outside of you. Share your strengths, joys, loves, and interests. Don't be surprised when you hear, "I don't know what I would've done without you."
There is a music teacher who was ready to leave the confines of a teacher's salary and strike out on her own. Although Mary was venturing into the unknown she had faith that her music school would be a success.
